Portraiture
Environmental portraits are done in a landscape location such as a garden, park or the beach rather than in the studio. Natural light is an inherent part of the setting and used as a design element. Because the setting is less formal it allows for a more relaxed relationship between the subject and the surrounding area or landscape. Portraits are gelatin silver photographs hand painted by the artist with oils, crayons and aquamarine pencils directly onto the photo to transform the image to full color.
